  • registration number
  • VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): only for vehicles made since 1 January 1989. You cannot search by chassis, hull identification, or serial identification number

As the onus is on the driver of any vehicle to ensure the vehicle is registered and roadworthy, the above mentioned online tools can be used to check the registration status of any vehicle you use. Personal details of the vehicle owner are not displayed during this search.

Likewise the owner of any vehicle can check the driver licence status of any person using their vehicle using the above mentioned online driver licence check. This is particularly useful for companies who provide authorization to employees to use company vehicles.
